"Calluna (the Latin for heather) Country with Hunter's Tweed" has opened its newly renovated classic store at London House in Brora on the corner of the main A9 and Station Square. This is opposite the original Hunters shop and is a welcome return for Hunter's in beautifully turned out premises. It cleverly combines items made from the long established and unique Hunters brand of tweed with quality country clothing, a horse tack and equipment section and Scottish country gifts from jewellery to jams, and is now a major attraction to visitors and locals alike.

The Hunters tweed name and quality, hefted to Brora, will remain and in future the tweed will be manufactured locally to the original formula by weavers at Johnstons of Elgin whose renowned cashmere and woollen goods are also stocked in this new shop along with garments made by Toggi and other well known brands. Among memorabilia on display is Tom Hunters original partners' desk which today proudly displays caps and ladies' and gentlemens' hats for sale made from the Hunter's original designs and exacting standards of Hunter's unique patented tweeds.

The newly refurbished building has had its original character faithfully and carefully restored in this Victorian building which displays the date Thomas Hunter moved his famous weaving mill from Wick to Brora in 1912. The company's local proprietors own the Hunters name and patents and the Sandside Estate just up the road in Caithness and will insist that the Hunters original quality prevails. The promised and phoenix like revival of the famous Hunters brand of tweed has been welcomed by locals and former customers and employees. Elaine Anderson, The new shop Manager has been an employee of Hunters since she left school in Brora.

Interesting features with in the shop are original counters and till from the former shop on other side of the Square. Tom Hunter on of the orginal partners' desk can be seen.
