Wizards Are On Their Way

In these days of austerity there is one businessman who is delighted to be able to bring a sparkle of childhood back to life. That is Highland magician Clive Grewcock who is based in Golspie, Sutherland but has the privilege of taking his magic throughout Scotland.

Clive (44) said, "It is an age old story that Magicians were bitten by the magic bug at a young age and that interest lingers and only when these guys are older do you see the potential and relevance of Magic as an Artform in our lives. Magic is so much more than a bag of tricks, it is as much to do with presenting a piece of visual art as well as working in a social environment and getting people involved with the performance whether on stage or at fingertip distance."

Because of this enthusiasm and the wonder youngsters get out of watching live magic, Clive is bringing a little more to his show with what is being called his "Wizard Workshops". "There is always excitement in the faces of youngsters when I perform at events or parties and it is amazing how sharp and the amount of banter you can bounce around the group. For this reason the wizard workshops will allow the youngsters to watch, learn, appreciate as well as take something away with them - keeping that all important promise of secrecy of course."

"I always found it a shame when a show would end, the magic man would pack up his props and that was that. This way the magic goes on and with following newsletters and magic kits it all becomes very exciting."

As a close up and parlour style Magician, Clive works a great deal for celebrations, wedding and private parties where the adults are thrilled and bamboozled. It all fires the imagination and with this new development he plans to take his Wizard Workshops not only to birthday parties but youth groups, events and organisations where magic can increase personal and interpersonal skills and techniques.

This could be the start of budding wizards appearing throughout the North.
