Bear Grylls Survival Academy launches in the Highlands

Bear Grylls recently announced the launch of his first ever Bear Grylls Survival Academy in Sutherland in the Highlands.
The six-day course will comprise of a combination of remote land/sea survival and adventure tasks that will culminate in a wilderness expedition designed to put the enrollees' new found skills to the ultimate test. The Academy has been designed by Bear Grylls and will be run by his close team of highly trained experts.
This fits in well in the run up to VisitScotland's Year of Natural Scotland 2013, which will celebrate Scotland's outstanding natural beauty and heritage while encouraging all Scots and visitors to experience and participate in outdoor activities and events, savour local produce and encounter rare and beautiful species of wildlife.
Bear Grylls has become known around the world as the most recognised face of survival and outdoor adventure with experience gained during his time with the British Reserve Special Forces.
Today perhaps, Bear is best known for his international TV series Man vs. Wild (known as Born Survivor in the UK) which has achieved a global audience of over 1.2 billion followers.
