Help for Sutherland Businesses To Supply Highland council

18th December 2012

Help is at hand for Sutherland businesses to supply The Highland Council.

A free event aimed at helping Sutherland based businesses to supply The Highland Council will take place on Wednesday 16 January 2013 in Dornoch.

The event will take place in Dornoch Social Club, School Hill, Dornoch, IV25 3PF.

Members of the Council’s Procurement team and Enterprise Europe will be on hand to provide free information and advice to help businesses through the processes of tendering for Council contracts.

Businesses in the Sutherland area which already supply, or wish to supply to the Council are encouraged to come along to talk individually to Procurement staff.

Staff from Enterprise Europe will be able to ensure that businesses are registered with the contract advertising portal www.publiccontractsscotland.gov.uk and ensure that attendees’ details are fully up to date and that they can access all potential contract opportunities.

Participants will be able to find out about upcoming contract opportunities from £5,000 to £5,000,000, discuss how the tendering process works, and discuss any concerns they might have.

Topics businesses may wish to discuss might include:

Advertising of contracts;
Pre-qualification questionnaires;
Invitations to tender; and
Evaluation of tenders.
Businesses can book a 20 minute slot with a member of staff between 9:30am and 4:30pm by telephoning 01463 703887, or by emailing procurement.unit2[AT]highland.gov.uk.

Please note that the Council’s Procurement Office will be closed on 25 December 2012 and will reopen on 3 January 2013, so there may be a delay in responding to emails.

Alternatively businesses can drop in to the Dornoch event when convenient – but please be prepared for a short wait.
