Trading Standards to host drop-in sessions for home maintenance and improvement businesses
19th March 2015
Highland Council Trading Standards are to hold two drop-in sessions aimed at traders who conduct works on domestic properties. The sessions will take place on Friday 27th March from 2pm till 4pm and again on Wednesday 1st April from 9am till 11am.
Traders who engage on works on domestic properties are encouraged to pop in and meet Trading Standards Officers who will be on hand to answer questions and provide advice and guidance on how to comply with the legislation governing this area of trade.
Gordon Robb Trading Standards Manager states "Highland Council Trading Standards are keen to engage with such businesses who are operating in the area. Business advice is a service that we offer, it is free of charge and allows a business to speak directly to Trading Standards Officers, take information away and most importantly trade with the confidence that what you are doing is legal.
He continues "Tackling rogue doorstep trading is a national priority for us and this is an opportunity for the legitimate business community to speak to us, make sure that they are complying with the law and, share their concerns about rogue traders."
The sessions will be held at the Highland Council Trading Standards office at 38 Harbour Road, Inverness, IV1 1UF.
Traders who cannot attend the drop-in sessions but would still like to talk to Highland Council Trading Standards can do so by calling 01463 228700, alternatively, an on-line business information service can be found at http://www.highland.gov.uk/businessinformation/tradingstandards/tsadviceforbusiness
