The Long Lingering Roads Of Sutherland
6th April 2015
The distance and vast views of emptiness is something anyone who travels Sutherland will always remember. The county is one of the least populated places not just in Scotland or the UK but in all of Europe.
Not for nothing is it sometimes called "The Last Wilderness". With the huge vistas and from time to time herds of deer running across your road. Eagles and other birds of prey wandering the skies is something we all would like to see and here you have the chance to them as well as many other raptors.
Sutherland has nature reserves, big rocky hills, forests, a long coastline on both sides of Scotland and is steeped in history every where you go.
Here are some links to some photos show you the roads and some of what is along the way. By wandering off to the even smaller roads you will find many places to enjoy the scenery.
