There will be a temporary prohibition of traffic on the B869 Lochinver - Drumbeg - Newton Road later this month.   The lengths of road affected include the B869 Lochinver - Drumbeg - Newton Road, which will be closed from its junction with A894 Loch Assynt - Laxford Road to its junction with A836 Invershin – Lochinver Road.

Sutherland capital investment for council housing improvements
At the meeting of the Sutherland Area Committee, Members agreed a one-year Housing Revenue Account Capital Programme that will see £533,000 spent on projects to improve Sutherland Council homes over 2022/23.   The HRA Capital Programme 2022-23 has been developed in line with the agreed principles within the 2022-27 HRA Capital Plan approved at Housing and Property Committee on 15 December 2021.

Support For Scotland's International Festivals

Jobseekers Now Only Have Four Weeks To Find Work Before They Must Widen Their Search
From Tuesday 8 February, those who are capable of work will be expected to search more widely for suitable available jobs from the fourth week of their Universal Credit claim, rather than up to three months as was previously the case.   The changes in the regulations aim to support people into work faster as we recover from the pandemic.

Covid Recovery And Reform Bill Introduced
Legislation proposing the permanent adoption or temporary extension of some beneficial measures enacted during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has been published today.   The Coronavirus (Recovery and Reform) (Scotland) Bill proposes changes in 30 specific legislative areas, which were modified by temporary provisions made under Scottish and UK coronavirus legislation.
