7,833 new cases of COVID-19 reported. Please note that as of 13 January 2022, this figure includes cases identified using either a first LFD (lateral flow device) or PCR (polymerase chain reaction) positive test.
4,469 of these cases were identified through a PCR positive test (through either a PCR test alone, or through a PCR test following a LFD test).
21 new reported deaths of people who have tested positive.
46 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.
1,540 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.
4,397,912 people have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccination, 4,064,533 have received their second dose, and 3,184,700 have received a third dose or booster.
on 14 January, 41 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive.
in the week ending 9 January, 72 deaths were registered where COVID-19 was on the death certificate (Noting that death registrations for this period are affected by public holidays).
Since the start of the outbreak:
10,038 people have died who have tested positive as at 14 January.
12,543 deaths have been registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate up to 9 January.
29% of COVID-19 registered deaths related to deaths in care homes, 64% were in hospitals and 7% were at home or non-institutional settings (as at 9 January).
1,544 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19; of these, 50 were in intensive care.
