Coronavirus (covid-19): Daily Data For Scotland - 16 January 2022

1,562 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

42 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

Due to IT issues this morning, Public Health Scotland are unable to provide today's COVID-19 cases and vaccination data. This issue is under investigation.

on 14 January, 41 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive.

in the week ending 9 January, 72 deaths were registered where COVID-19 was on the death certificate (Noting that death registrations for this period are affected by public holidays).

Since the start of the outbreak:

10,038 people have died who have tested positive as at 14 January
12,543 deaths have been registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate up to 9 January.

29% of COVID-19 registered deaths related to deaths in care homes, 64% were in hospitals and 7% were at home or non-institutional settings (as at 9 January).

1,544 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19; of these, 50 were in intensive care.

in addition, yesterday 12 confirmed COVID-19 patients were in intensive care longer than 28 days.

in the week ending 10 January, 1,022 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to hospital.

in the week ending 13 January, 40 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to intensive care.

28,706 inpatients who tested positive for COVID-19 have been discharged from hospital since 5 March 2020.

as at 12 January, 1,608 people were delayed in hospital.
