Social Enterprise Academy Events

27th August 2008

The Social Enterprise Academy is holding two taster sessions on behalf of the Kyle of Sutherland Trust. The first is at Carbisdale Castle, on Wednesday 3rd September 2008, 7-8.30pm and a similar event on Saturday 6th September 2008 10-11.30am at Bonar Bridge Community Hall.

The events are free and open to anyone and everyone who lives, works or studies in Central Sutherland. No formal qualifications, employment or age limits apply. The sessions will cover insights into business ideas generation, community regeneration and how to take these ideas forward.

The Academy courses strive to challenge, develop, and motivate, to create understanding and change in the organisations and communities we work. Focusing on the three interacting needs of any social business our courses are designed around the learner, the enterprise, and the community. We build on the knowledge, the beliefs and values of the participants through tutor and peer-led learning.

Any organisation, social enterprise, or voluntary group looking for funding from LEADER, ESF, the Lottery, or any other awarding body will find the Academy courses beneficial in helping create sustainable business plans that will more easily win the support of awarding bodies. They also provide business and leadership skills that are of benefit in everyday work situations.
