What's On At Helmsdale Timespan Museum

Annie Cattrell Solo Exhibition continues to the 12th of August.
Did you know that the exhibition extends to the Victorian Icehouse where you can see her large work Currents. The water-like acrylic blocks in the dark interior of the old building mirror the water in the River Helmsdale, flowing past the Icehouse, past Timespan. But they are static, like ice.
Feis Chataibh Ceilidh Trail is performing Scottish traditional music at Timespan on the 27 July at 7.30pm.
Talking Objects. View the objects from our collection that are usually hidden away. Can you identify them? Tell us your story on the 30th of July, 7.30pm at Timespan. Presentation, tea and raffle.
Mary Bourne Exhibition Opening 17 August at Timespan. Mary Bourne is showing stone sculptures made from local stone. Her work draws attention to an elemental material of our life; stone is all around us but we hardly notice it. The exhibition will continue until the 28th of September.
London based artist Carolyn Lefley is visting Timespan for two weeks from 18 August to work on her current work Realm. Get in touch if you want to show her your favourite derelict house in the area around Helmsdale.
Dalziel+Scullion's film Wolf, commissioned by Timespan, will travel to the Woodend Barn in Aberdeenshire. The Preview is on the 31 August.
Our programme continues with Harp and Clarsach music on the 25 August at Kildonan Church. Talk and workshop by harpist Bill Taylor 2-4pm, followed by a concert 7-9pm.
Want to meet a band from Nepal in the Scottish Highlands? Kutumba is visiting Timespan from the 12 September for a few days. Pencil in a Ceilidh for the 14 September.

Our digital artist Olly is putting on a special film by Margaret Tait. The Big Sheep Symposium on the 20 October will be hosted by Helmsdale Community Centre, with guest speakers and a Tait sightseeing tour. Details coming soon.
