Home security advice. Don't give thieves a chance...

Northern Constabulary wish to remind householders, especially in Inverness, of the simple steps that can be taken to prevent opportunist and 'sneak in thefts' from occurring within their homes.

Lock ALL doors, front and rear, especially at night or when in the garden.

Close all windows and secure them when your out and at night - especially ground floor ones.

Secure all sheds, garages and outbuildings and make sure bikes and other such are not left out, unsecured, overnight.

Although Inverness remains a safe place to live, we are not immune to this sort of offence and urge everyone to follow these simple steps to help reduce this upsetting and unnecessary type of crime.
